GM Magesh Panchanathan from India (2533) is the winner of the 5th annual Edmonton International chess championship. GM Panchanathan did it in style as he scored an amazing 8.5/9!
Second place went to the tournament regular-GM Jesse Kraai from the US (2502) who finished with 7/9. Third was shared by Georgian GM Mikheil Kekelidze (2487) and Edmontonian IM Edward Porper (2441) with 6.5/9 each.
Best under 2400 prize went to the talented 11 year old Richard Wang from Edmonton (2190). He scored an impressive 4.5/9!

This event will qualify one player to the prestigious 4th Edmonton International, which will take place between December 17-21. Besides having a chance to qualify for the main event you will also have a chance to contribute your share to top level chess in Edmonton as 50% of the entry fees will go towards the support of the Edmonton International. The qualifier is CFC and FIDE rated.
